Tour Summary

Itinerary

Arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula Airport: This has had to be among the world's most amazing flights. On a clear day, you can see the Nun Kun massif and the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, and Gasherbrum from one side of the plane and feel as though you might reach it from the other. You will be met upon arrival and taken to the hotel for check-in by transfer. Full day of leisure and rest to acclimate, then coffee or tea at the hotel for the welcome. There will be a hotel stay planned.

After breakfast, you will take a drive along the Indus river on the Leh - Kargil highway and begin your tour with the Museum constructed by the Indian Army near the town of Leh, which is a must-visit for every Indian. Then, you will continue to the Gurudwara patthar Sahib, which is over 3,000 meters above sea level, about 22 km from the town of Leh. This shrine was built in the memory of the late Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Deep in the Himalayan mountains, a 4 km drive takes you to the Magnetic Hill, which defies the laws of gravity. From the Magnetic Hills, you will come to the famous confluence of two rivers, the Indus river coming from Tibet (on the left) and the Zanskar river coming from the Zanskar valley (on the right). The Zanskar river is famous for its Chadar Trek. After this, you will drive back to Leh, staying overnight at the hotel.

We took a drive to Nubra Valley after breakfast. Around 39 miles from Leh, the road that leads to Nubra Valley crosses over Khardung La, the world's highest motorable road, at 5,602 meters (18,390 feet). From the pass, views stretch all the way north to the towering Saser massif and south over the Indus valley to the seemingly never-ending peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range. The valley of flowers, or Ldumra, is another name for Nubra Valley. It is located in the northern region of Ladakh, sandwiched between the Himalayan mountains of the Karakoram and Ladakh. The valley is 10,000 feet above sea level on average. When we get to Nubra, we register at our hotel or camp.

We travel to Hunder in the evening, where you may experience riding a double-humped Bactrian camel through the high-altitude desert, with snow-capped mountains visible in the distance. There are sand dunes beside the road between Hunder and Diskit. If you were alone, you may think you were in the Rajasthani Thar Desert's sand dunes. Make a stop at Diskit, the Nubra Valley's headquarters town, on the way back. Take a stroll through the bazaar and see the locals going about their everyday business and the stores. The 515-year-old Buddhist Monastery in Diskit is well-known for its stunning location atop a hilltop with a view of the entire valley. After dinner, we made our way back to the camp to spend the night.

After breakfast, we'll head further north on our drive through breathtaking landscape as the valley begins to drastically close in as we pass the IAF base at Thoise. In the afternoon, we will arrive in the charming border settlement of Turtuk, which was captured by India during the 1971 war and officially belongs to Pakistan's Bal area, or Balstan.

The remainder of the day should be spent seeing the area and mingling with the people; although it feels a lot like Pakistan, the people there are incredibly welcoming and proud of India. Meet incredibly kind and welcoming people who have a charmingly European appearance; the children are very cute; and enjoy the scenery while taking walks around the area. Additionally, you can go to the well-known apricot fields and, if you'd like, pick some. After dinner and an overnight stay, return to Nubra in the evening.

After breakfast, we drive to Pangong tso through Agham and Shyok valley, some of the road patches are very rough (towards the Nubra side), but the road conditions are very beautiful! After crossing this challenging part, we continue driving towards Durbuk and Tangtse towards Pangong. We pass a few small villages in Changthang and suddenly get a spectacular view of Pangong lake at 14,000ft (4,267m). This beautiful blue brackish lake of Pangong china border is 5/6 km wide and over 133 km long, half of it running on the opposite side of the “Indo tourists” from all around the world. You will never feel so close to nature, the environment and scenery is unforgettable.

Upon arrival, we stayed at our Camp near Pangong lake and had dinner and Overnight at the camp.

We spend the morning exploring the lake's magnificence and then head back to Tsomoriri via Tsaa La Road. Arrive at the hotel or camp that you have reserved, and spend the night in Tsomorir.

Lake Moriri, sometimes called "Mountain Lake" or Tso Moriri, is a lake in the Changthang Plateau of Ladakh, India. In the morning after breakfast, it is transferred by private MUV vehicle toward Leh. The Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve protects the lake and its environs. Enjoy your trip; the lake is located at a height of 4,522 meters. Following the trip, head back to the hotel to spend the night there.

Come home with joyful recollections. Say goodbye to your "Explore Ladakh" tour today as you are driven to the Leh airport in preparation for your next adventure.
